New projects

It rained today. Finally. It had been so long that Кит spent 30 minutes staring at the drops invading his balcony, probably trying to remember what they were. Anyway, I love rainy Saturday afternoons- do you? It seems like the best time to pull out those big project dreams and start working. After you assign the dirty dishes to your husband, that is ;)

This spring I left my job, not being exactly sure what was next... only that as this blogger said, "I didn’t want to work hard and make some other company successful. I wanted to work hard and make my own company successful."

It's July now. I've learned a lot of Russian and written about it here, began volunteering once a week with some really cool people, taught English to a digital nomad on Skype, planned a trip to Nicaragua, and am taking the first step towards online entrepreneurship. An online English course to start this fall-

Hooray!

This is the very, very beginning and sometimes I'm not even sure if I'm doing the right hard work. But!- I feel momentum and a growing confidence that this is the right challenge. D and I have talked and talked and talked about the future: health, children, location independence, income, and the logistics of having those 4 things simultaneously. Some of those things we have less control over than others, of course, but online entrepreneurship is a theme that reoccurs in these conversations. I love teaching and am really excited to be attempting something new with it. We even have a course mascot already ; )

And craziness- this week will be our one-year anniversary of being in the US! I can now say we're definitely not going to Ukraine anywhere this year, but there's always 2016...

What big projects and plans are you working on right now?

  1. Good luck - I know the hard work will pay off! I am hunting for a contract teaching position, having just finished my certification program, and accepting the reality of living with my folks for a year if I do not asucceed in the next couple weeks. Another year of subbing and applying for next year. Not a lofty goal, but it is something!

    1. Thanks, Leah! And it's good to hear from you :) I was at your blog the other day, checking for an update. I hope such a position lines up for you soon! Have you had any time for cooking or tea-decluttering?
