The Pacific

Remember that quick beach getaway? It happened- barely 24 hours in total, yet enough rain and gloom to satisfy even the saddest Russian poet.

Crimea?

Yesterday we teamed up with a friend from the Russian language meetup and went to the opening lecture in Reed College's Understanding Putinism event. Most of the talks sounded too scholarly for our ragtag group, but hearing "Crimea" = instant draw. It's weird- although I never liked Crimea much before (especially the capital)....

Getaway

We're going to the Oregon coast soon. It'll be a quick little getaway but I'm really looking forward to it.

The Soviet pocket calendar

Someone in my husband's family collected these little calendars once upon a time.

They've been waiting in an envelope for 2 years now- eek! But I'm finally ready to organize them: got the binder, got the plastic sleeves, got the time. Check out how many there are!!
