I'd like to introduce you to this beautiful little kitten!
He's been running the show here for about two weeks, getting more rambunctious and daring by the hour. All day he plays with toy cars and cardboard tubes, slowing down occasionally to nap at our feet.
Any ideas for a name? Update: We've named him кит, which means whale in Russian. He is expanding at an enormous rate... it's like he gains a pound and grows an inch overnight!

ReplyDeleteToo cute! He's such a pretty smoky color. Names? hmmm...we are bad at naming pets. Our cats are named Obi Wan (General Kenobi) and Vader...
ReplyDeleteActually, your cats' names were the first things I thought of when beginning the Great Name Hunt. I always liked them :)
DeleteSmoky? ("Дымок" in Russian)
ReplyDeleteThat's a good idea... if I could pronounce the ы sound!

ReplyDeleteor cat("кіт") in Ukrainian :)
It's the perfect name then, because he's seriously part whale and part cat. Thanks for the translation!
DeleteCute kitty!! I was just going to say- the words for "whale" and "cat" in Ukrainian are very close (I see someone beat me to it, though). I also like the Ukrainian word for kitten: "kotik". So cute sounding!
ReplyDeleteSometimes I call him kotik, even though he hardly looks like one anymore :) You have a cat too, don't you?
