True love

In Ukraine it's popular for couples to commemorate their love by placing a personalized lock in a public place. I think this is sweet. What do you think? Would you do it?

As you can see, Kharkov is a very romantic city
Some of the more unique locks:
Did you know that the Russian word for ladybug translates to God's little cow? божья коровка
Marina + Slava = love

It's so cool to be close, together and forever, whispering sweet words to each other... and realize that in this world there are no two happier hearts than these two!

    1. Favorite? Probably the swan lock because it's the most detailed.... definitely a labor of love. Have you run across any bridges/places like this in Kiev?

  3. No, I didn't mean favourite:) Did you have one made? Yes, we saw a small bridge in Kiev but it's also a huge tradition in Moscow. In fact, couples used to just throw them in the Moscow River and then apparently the government didn't like the pollution it was causing and that's how this tradition started. I don't remember the whole story though. Anyways, it's a lot prettier this way!

    1. Gotcha! No, we haven't done this. I've always wanted to have our wedding here in Ukraine though, so maybe it will happen.... Thanks for the info about Moscow :)
